Vanishing Act...

Fri Nov 6, 2009, 10:54 AM
Hey peoples, finally updated! Kinda.

I'm being lazy and not scanning much recently, but then I've only been doing bits and bobs, Art foundation work and whatnot, not really the stuff I would post up.

I don't know what's happened to this year. Where's it gone? It's almost christmas already!

As for me, I've spent the year in a permanent state of frugality, stemming from the fact that I HAVE NO CASH. (Darn you, college, why do you leech from me so!) So I only went to the Feb. EXPO, since trains to London are expensive (not to mention what I'd spend while there!).

In other news, I'm enjoying my Japanese lessons, and I've decided to go down the Vis Comm route with my art. Also, I've been having many arguments with my mom (who I normally get along great with) about University. She's totally against it, but everyone else is telling me that I DEFINITELY HAVE TO GO, or else I'll fail at getting a job, or, you know, life. So. Zombieland was an ace movie, don't you think?

Ah yea, I've gotten into ATCs recently (Artist Trading Cards) so I've been working on those too. They're Dinosaur themed. I'll post them up before I send them off so you can tell me what you think.

Let's hope I get off my broke ass and start taking part in this community again!

Later! :)

Long Time No Speak

Sat Aug 1, 2009, 2:25 PM
Hey! Sorry to everyone that I've been gone for so long. Real life has this habit of getting in the way.

Currently working my ass off to afford to go to college next year; I've applied for an Art Foundation course at Leamington. But it's going to be expensive. Which is why I'm working stupid hours (9am-6.30pm with like 5mins break in there somewhere) with far too much stress. Seriously, we've lost four members of staff in the last two months, three of them due to stress. No manager at our store, and our supervisor is also leaving. No wonder it's a nightmare...

Anyway, aside from that, myself and a few others are working on a Zombie movie atm, which is trundling along in development...shooting should start mid-late August, but it's a short movie so will only take about 1-2 weeks. Just gotta finish editing and storyboarding first, yay! ( [link] CHECKIT YEA)I'm also working on some T-Shirt designs and whatnot.

On the plus side, got my tablet working again (even though it's a slightly rubbish one anyway, lol) and - as of an hour ago - my scanner, too! Which is an even more pants scanner, but work with what you've got, right? Right?!

So yea, I'll try and be a bit more sociable. Really. Just be patient with me :)

I'm scanning in some of the stuff I've done recently; most of it is still at college, being marked, though, so you'll have to wait for the REALLY cool stuff >:D

London Expo 09

Sun May 24, 2009, 4:26 AM
I had a great day Saturday at the London MCM EXPO '09! It was absolutely packed with people, and many many cosplayers too!

I spent the day in my 'Onion Knight' costume from Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and was even recognised! Eight times! Which is impressive, since the game is only out in Japan atm.

Some of my friends also went down; I met up with :iconyezilein: at Solihull station at 6.20 (even though we went to bed at say 3 that morning), and I managed to find :iconzoku-chan: inside due to her italian flag (she went as north Italy, and her friend as south Italy).

Waited outside for HOURS with an awesome Mario and Cid Highwind for the Guiness World Record attempt for number of Video Game cosplayers. EVENTUALLY they told us we had beaten the record and had our photos taken many many times. (It was really breezy outside and so I had to hold my helm on; I hadn't had time to attach a strap!)

A good time was had by all. Sadly I couldn't buy much, since I'm saving to go to art college, but I got a few copics and some cute keyrings (as well as Wild Adapter vol.6) so I'm satisfied :)

My mom was a lifesaver when it came to the sewing; I had exams during costume-making time, so she took up all the slack and worked her hands raw. She even stayed up till 3 that morning to re-sew the jacket collar!! I am one LUCKY biatch to have such a kick-ass parent! Which is why she deserves a shout-out.

Anyway, if you see any photos of me around, please message me! Thanks :D

It's Just Us, and that Alien

Mon Mar 30, 2009, 1:27 PM
It's been so long since I've last posted!! Sorry guys. It's been hectic, and life will only get worse before it gets better.

I have my foundation course interview on Wednesday, so am running around trying to get my portfolio sorted, but I also have all my mock exams and assessed practicals and the like as well. Easter break = no art progress, since I'm doing latex mold-based work, and straight after the hols I have my 15hr art exam and my week-long Philosophy synoptic.

So I will soon be drowning under this ridiculous amount of stress. I haven't even had time to start working on my cosplay costume this year!! Not to mention how very skint I am, and will continue to be this year. And after all my current expenses, I still hope to go to Japan at Christmas?!?

Well, we all need a little hope, even if that light at the end of the tunnel has a horn and several tonnes of train attached.

Anyway!! I'll try and be a bit more social on here. I've done plenty of work, but haven't got any up here yet. Perhaps at easter I'll scan it all in and post it up. Who knows?

BTW, to those who are interested, I'll be having another Anime Day during the break, so if you live around Birmingham-Solihull (and are someone I know, though I would have though such a thing obvious) and want to come lurk my house to watch Anime, read Manga and basically fangirl/fanboy over our fave series, drop me a line and I'll e-mail you details when I get it all sorted.

Peace out for now dudes!

Secret Wars vs. Exam

Mon Jan 19, 2009, 3:16 AM
Yo!

Sorry for the long time no post! Life, it's been happening. What can I say?

Anyway, my Chem mod 4 A2 exam is tomorrow, but am I revising? No, since I'm on here instead! So it's all going great!

Went to see the Secret Wars at the Rainbow Saturday night! It was ace, even though the weather was crap. The quarter finals results:
Newso vs. Cryze WINNER Newso! (No surprise there, most were fans of his :D )
Bevlak vs Obenzah WINNER Bevlak (I think, had to go before the end, last bus home was waaay to early - the graff wasn't started till 11).

It was a great atmosphere though, and now I'm pumped up to draw some more street style art and get working with cans again, because even though I'm useless with them, it's an awesome feeling. XD

If I can figure out how to scan them without breaking the spine of my sketchbook, I'll post 'So Why Not Start With Green?' and it's 'sequel' Red.

Oh, and saw Inkheart the other day, last showing at the cinema! It was awesome! But no-one was free to go with me (probably cause they were actually revising) so I went with my mom. But she enjoyed it, so all was well! Brendan Fraiser is defo one of my fave actors now. I can totally see him being a 'Mo'. XD

And OMG, I'm still obsessed with Dissidia. It's gotta be unhealthy. My cosplay for this year will hopefully be Onion Knight (the wimp! haha) but until I get it made I'm gonna cruise about as 'Generic Zombie #19'.

Later!
